POST STORM CONDITION YANKEE SET FOR CAPTAIN OF THE PORT ZONE NORTH CAROLINA
September 7, 2008, 1 p.m.
This advisory is to inform you that based on continued surveys of the waterway, the Captain of the Port for North Carolina has reopened all commercial waterways in Captain of the Port Zone North Carolina effective 1200 local time, September 7, 2008 with the following exceptions: a safety zone for Beaufort Inlet from Beaufort Inlet Channel Lighted Bell Buoy “BM” to Beaufort Inlet Channel Lighted Buoy 17 remains in effect. Vessels over 500 gross tons and tank barges over 200 gross tons may not transit this area without permission of the Captain of the Port. Beaufort Inlet will be reopened when waterway surveys have been completed.
All mariners are reminded to proceed with extreme caution due to the potential for shoaling, unmarked hazards and missing or unreliable aids to navigation.
