Boaters find the sheltered waters of Southport located on the marine charts halfway between Wrightsville Beach, NC, and Myrtle Beach, SC.

In 2006 a visionary team from the Cary-based Preston Development Company entered the scene and undertook the revitalization of Southport Marina with the goal of creating one of the most amenity-rich marinas in North Carolina.
