ICYMI: Last week, the North Carolina Ports team announced the second panel discussion of our Cold Chain Summit. This panel of industry experts will focus on the expansion of cold gateways from a carrier's perspective and how North Carolina is able to provide the link to a more efficient cold chain.
We look forward to this important discussion and more on April 18 at Hotel Ballast in Downtown Wilmington, NC.
Attending the Cold Chain Summit is free but space is limited. You can secure your spot here: ncports.com/cold-chain-summit/registration/

Last week, our team attended #TPM24 in Long Beach, CA and had a successful event connecting with partners, customers, and industry leaders.
New for TPM24, the TPM Cold Chain breakout track significantly elevated and enhanced key discussions surrounding the reefer market. NC Ports sponsored the Cold Chain Market Outlook session which provided an in-depth look at how a disruptive global stage will shape refrigerated shipping in 2024 and beyond.
Take a look at the exciting cold chain initiatives happening inside and outside the Port of Wilmington's gates in 2024!

A new cold storage facility is going up less than a mile away from the Port of Wilmington that will be able to house a broad range of product categories, including pork, poultry, fresh produce, organics, life sciences and more. This means more products could reach your grocery store shelves faster, making the food on your table even fresher.
The first phase of Cold Summit Development’s facility will bring 298,000 square feet of multi-suite cold storage space online just minutes away from our truck gate. The timing of this additional cold storage capacity could not be better as the NC Ports team just put the finishing touches on Phase 2 of the Port of Wilmington’s refrigerated container yard, bringing the on-port reefer plug count to more than 1,500.
