Frederick Surgeon was appointed to the North Carolina State Ports Authority Board of Directors by Governor Josh Stein. His term expires in 2031.
Mr. Surgeon is the founder of Surgeon and Associates, Inc., a family-owned holding company with ventures in healthcare, residential/commercial cleaning, pest control, farming, agritourism, property inspection, and hospitality. He has served in the capacity of Chief Executive Officer since February, 2006.
He also developed a working farm/ ranch called Sweet Valley Ranch that has welcomed more than 60,000 visitors since 2020.
Mr. Surgeon holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from North Carolina A&T State University and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke.
Mr. Surgeon has served on the advisory board of Lumbee Guaranty Bank (Hope Mills, NC Branch) and also served as Chairman for the Fayetteville Area Convention and Visitors Bureau.
