Rajan Shamdasani, of Fayetteville, was appointed to the North Carolina State Ports Authority Board of Directors by Gov. Roy Cooper in March 2021 for a six-year term.
In 1976, Mr. Shamdasani started American Uniform Sales, Inc., in Fayetteville. American Uniforms now has locations in Wilmington, Philadelphia and Alexandria, VA. Mr. Shamdasani also has extensive commercial and residential real estate development experience, with projects including housing developments, office buildings and storage facilities.
He has been active in community organizations and served on many boards, including as Vice Chair of United Way of Cumberland County, Chair of Community Development Foundation, Chair of Center for Entrepreneurship at Fayetteville State University, member of the Board of Trustees of Fayetteville State University and a member of the Fayetteville Airport Commission.
