North Carolina State Ports Authority Executive Director Appointed to Maritime Transportation System National Advisory Committee

Wilmington, N.C. – The United States Transportation Secretary, Pete Buttigieg, recently appointed Brian Clark, Executive Director of the North Carolina State Ports Authority, as one of 25 new members to the Maritime Transportation System National Advisory Committee (MTSNAC). The purpose of MTSNAC is to guide the Secretary on matters relating to U.S. maritime transportation, its integration with other segments of the transportation system and the viability of the U.S. Merchant Marine.

“As a proud graduate of the United States Merchant Marine Academy and having dedicated over 27 years to the shipping industry, I am grateful for the opportunity to serve on the Maritime Transportation System National Advisory Committee,” said Brian Clark. “As a part of this committee I hope to make a positive impact on U.S. maritime transportation at a time when the shipping industry is seeing unprecedented challenges.”

The MTSNAC is comprised of 22 members from public and private entities and 5 senior federal employees from various agencies.
